Evaluation of upper gastrointestinal system in acromegaly

Background: Because of prolong exposure to elevated endogenous growth hormone (GH) and insulin-like growth factor (IGF-1) levels in acromegaly, it is resulted in multipl comorbidities such as somatic growth, hypertension, diabetes and sleep apnea. Systemic complications caused by acromegaly include gastrointestinal (GIS) involvement.
